WEDNESDAY SHOPPER BUS Leaves the Montefiore Institute at 9.30am and returns from Braintree at 12 noon as before
Churches
Located off The Street, you will find All Saints Church. There are regular services held here as well as life events such as weddings, baptisms, and funerals. We currently have a Choir, Toddler Group, Flower Arrangers and Bell Ringers group – you will hear them regularly rung here!
Stisted All Saints Church is part of the Benefice known as Coggeshall and United Parishes (CAUP).

Street Gutters and Gully Pots
BDC will undertake 4 channel sweeps in the village on the following dates for the 2026/2027 year:
2026 / 2027 Dates:
- 20 January
- 27 July
- 27 October
- 29 January 2027
Please try to keep your vehicles off the road on the above dates so that the sweepers have clear access to the road channels and can undertake an effective sweep.

Fairways Childcare
Fairways Childcare is a bright and well-resourced nursery offering quality childcare for children aged 2 – 5 years. We are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, 47 weeks of the year.( Although holiday care is number dependent) We also offer term time places only. We are also very unique with the respect of the flexibility we offer and being able to be contacted anytime night or day!
With our rural location, there is a natural emphasis on outdoor activities whether it is playing in the well-equipped garden, planting or gardening in the wildlife garden or enjoying one of the many local woodland walks watching the seasons change.
Within our broad well-balanced indoor curriculum, we recognise the important role “just playing” has in the early years. We encourage children to experiment, explore their environment for themselves allowing time and providing opportunity for children to practice new skills and perfect the old. We have forged
good links with the local primary school, Stisted Academy.
Parents always receive a warm welcome at Fairways Childcare. We value your input into nursery life and work hard to foster positive relationships to ensure continuity of care. This also follows in the respect that all our staff members are long standing between 6-16 years of service.

Mobile Library
Unfortunately, the mobile library does not currently stop in Stisted. The nearest village to Stisted that the Library stops at is in Greenstead Green.

Playing Fields
Within the village, we have a very well maintained playing field. With access from Kings Lane or via a footpath from The Street (adjacent to the Booking Urban), you will find the following –

- Basketball
- Pavillion
- Table Tennis
- Picnic Benches
- Activity Course
- Adult Gym Equipment (rower, cross trainer, air walker)
We welcome any individuals to use these facilities at their own risk, however any organised events need to be confirmed and agreed prior to taking place.
Dog walkers are welcome however the dog must be kept on a lead and you must clear up after your dog at all times.
The pavilion, built in 2017, is available to hire for events like parties, sports events etc. There is electricity to the Pavilion

School
Stisted Primary Academy is a Church of England School. It’s a small school that can accommodate 15 pupils in each year. There are 7 year groups and a maximum of 105 pupils.
Stisted PC and the local community support the school wherever possible.

Book Club
Our Village has a Book Club that meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month in the Montefiore Institute. Each month a preset book is discussed. There are occasional literary trips out. Cost £3.00 per session.
FairHead Arms
The Village Hall is open every Friday Evening to the public with a licensed bar and usually an outdoor foodtruck. Open at approximately 5.00 pm till 10.00 pm
Montefiore Institute
The Montefiore is a community building that was bequeathed to the community by Cecil Sebag-Montefiore. It is the home to the community shop which is open several days per week and has a meeting room that can be hired and is currently the base Stisted Parish Council and for various clubs such as the book club, craft club, bowls club and 123 club
Book Club
Meets once per month on 3rd Wednesday of the month in the Montefiore. All Welcome £1.00 per meeting
