Stisted is a small rural village and civil parish in the Braintree District of Essex, England, located about 3 miles (5 km) east of the town of Braintree. With a population of around 660, it operates as an active local community with a Parish Council and various Community Hubs such as the Village Hall, The Montefiore Institute and the Village Shop. There are volunteer groups for the Stisted Historical Archive and for a Climate and Nature group for the Parish
Stisted was originally recorded in the Domesday book in 1086
