Affordable Housing Site Preference Survey Report 2025
The final report From RCCE on the 2024 Housing Needs Survey has now been released for use on our website and is attached below. This now supersedes all information from any previous Housing Needs Surveys for the Parish.
The Parish Council has distributed the 2025 Affordable Housing Survey to residents to ascertain Stisted Community’s Site Preference from the following 4 options:
Site 1: Rectory Road
Site 2: Back Lane
Site 3 Sarcel (Option A)
Site 4: Sarcel (Option B)
The results of the survey will be presented at a future meeting of the Parish Council once the report has been completed by the RCCE.
UPDATE From May 2025 a working group comprising 3 councillors and 4 people from the village has been set up with the first task being to review the 4 potential sites for Affordable housing. Parish Representatives were encouraged to apply to join the working group and 13 applications were received. The first meeting of this group was on 27 May where it was agreed to visit all the sites again and look to carry out an independent survey of all households in the village to establish the favoured site. This page will cover information on the 2024 current Rural Affordable Housing work in Stisted, with the 2024 Housing Needs Survey (HNS) by the Rural Community Council of Essex (RCCE)
- Starting on 12 November, there was a presentation by RCCE and Hastoe on possibilities for Rural Affordable Housing in Stisted
- During November, a Housing Needs Survey was issued to all households in the Parish for return to RCCE in December
- 4th December, there was a Parish Council meeting where Rural Affordable Housing was discussed and the public raised a series of questions. – these were formally answered later and were published with the December minutes
- 5 February Parish Council Meeting held where a presentation was made to the village by RCCE and Hastoe, followed by a public participation section for questions
- The Council took a Resolution on 5th March to start a Project in accordance with the identified need in the housing survey
